11. Salt- As per taste.

Preparation Time:  10 minutes
Total time : 45 minutes

Method:

1. At first wash the fish properly by using salt and water.

2. Allow them to  dry by placing them on a strainer or towel dry them using a kitchen towel.

3. Now marinate them using salt and turmeric powder and keep them aside.

4. In the mean time boil one potato and chop the other potatoes into long and bow shaped pieces.

5. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces.

6. Now take one non-stick pan and pour some mustard oil. Heat the pan and once the oil is hot enough and its strong yellow colour changes to pale yellow and it starts emitting little smoke, simmer the flame a little and start frying the marinated fish pieces.

7.Fry the fish pieces carefully by using a flat spatula to avoid breaking the pieces.

8. Turn the pieces upside down and fry them till they become golden red.

9. Once they are cooked, keep them aside. Take a cauldron and put some mustard oil in it.

10. Now heat the oil and put the fenugreek seeds and allow them to crackle.

11. As they turn black, add the chopped potatoes and saute.

12. Add a pinch of salt, turmeric powder and coriander powder and saute the mixture.

13. Now cover the cauldron and allow the potatoes to be cooked for 10 minutes. Saute in between.

14. Once they are cooked, add the chopped tomatoes and boiled mashed potatoes and cover them for another 10 minutes.

15. As the tomatoes melt and give out a nice aroma,  add the fish pieces and add hot water.

16.Now let it remain over the flame and thicken the gravy a little. Add more water if required. Add a little tamarind or squeeze some lemon just before switching off the flame.

17. Our Masor Tenga is hot, yummy and ready to be served.  And yes don't forget to garnish it with chopped coariander leaves and some love...

                                  Thank you

An Evening in Shimla

Travelling with my beloved is a rare occasion of celebration for me.Even  if it becomes a tiring journey,I find pleasure in sharing a little bit of displeasure with my beloved.

Our trip to the beautiful planet of hills have been for sure a romantic one with a tint of adventure here and there. We boarded a train from Old Delhi 'Delhi-Kalka Express' at about 2 am in the morning of 2nd Julyand reached Kalka at about 7 am in the morning. From there we took a toy train to Shimla. The journey by the toy train is a unique experience in itself. We together uncovered the captivating beauty of the land  as we passed through dark tunnels one after the other. It was really an extraordinary feeling- a feeling of sensing beauty in its purest form and a feeling of undefined happiness in unfolding the serenity of life. After travelling for five hours, we finally reached our most awaited destination Shimla.

It was 1'o clock in the afternoon when we reached the station. As we were already very tired, so we hired a car from the station to Clarke Hotel which is in the Mall Road, Shimla. It is a heritage hotel built by the Britishers. I must say , the hotel enhances the beauty of the lovely Mall Road, which welcomes every tourist in its classy and elegant style. The intricately designed interiors and the huge paintings in the corridors, would urge any soul to add one more day in the holiday schedule. The magnificient french window in our room gave a very romantic view of the hilly town. The Shimla High Court embellished the scenery.

That evening we decided just to stroll around the Mall road and enjoy the evening in a relaxed way. There were many fruit sellers by the road side selling some fleshy and mouth-watering berries; there were chanas and chaat vendors; there were some other appetizing odour leaking out from the fast food and pop-corn shops.  The streets were really fun to enjoy. People were seen reading newspapers and magazines on the road side benches; some old people were seen laughing out to their heart's content; some children were riding horses  from where the locals would earn their daily wages by renting their horses. All these gave me a feeling of euphoria, thus leaving a lasting impression in my heart. Had I been an artist, I would have sketched an elaborate view of that beautiful evening in Shimla.

The next morning, at about 10 in the morning we came out for sight seeing. We hired a taxi and asked the driver to guide us in enjoying the best of Shimla. On our way, we clicked some photos in the Himachali attire. My childhood fascination became reality as we sat on Yak's back and rode horses in the back-crunching roads of Shimla. We also tried some adventorous climbs and manual rope-ways in an adventure park which we encountered in our way. Overall, Shimla left a lasting impression in my heart and am sure in my beloved's heart too as we celebrated our first wedding anniversary in the beautiful hills of romance.
